Two teens charged in rollover on I-70

A teenage driver and a passenger who claimed to have been the driver were charged after a rollover accident on westbound Interstate 70 in South Canyon Monday evening.Three people in the vehicle, from 16 to 19 years old, were treated for minor injuries. A fourth person left the scene prior to a Colorado State Patrol investigation, the CSP said in a news release.The news release said a 1993 Lincoln sedan went off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and rolled on its roof at about 9:30 p.m. Monday.A female passenger originally claimed to be the driver, and was charged with false reporting, the CPS reported. The 16-year-old male driver was charged with careless driving, driving under a suspended license and no proof of insurance. He also had a municipal warrant out of Glenwood Springs.The CSP did not release the names of those charged.
