Veterans Day Events
Students at Crystal River Elementary School are searching for local veterans in the community to invite to the annual Veterans Day Celebration in November. If you, or someone you know, is a veteran please email your mailing address to firstname.lastname@example.org so CRES students can send an invitation to the program. The Veterans Day performance is at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at The Orchard (Church at Carbondale) in Carbondale.
Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge 2286 will honor veterans of all branches of the armed services at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, beverages, guest speaker Debra Brauchler U.S. Navy (Ret.) and special recognition of the Navy and Coast Guard. Also highlighted during the evening will be a video from 2011 National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic held annually at Snowmass and sponsored in part by the Elks Lodges from Glenwood Springs, Rifle and Aspen. The Elks Lodge, located on Highway 6&24 next to Glenwood Gardens, encourages veterans of all branches of the armed services to join us for this day of remembrance and recognition to those who have served our country.
