Veterans invited to submit comments on military service

Veterans living in Garfield County are invited to contribute their thoughts on military service for a special page in the Post Independent to appear on Friday, Nov. 11, Veteran’s Day.

“We want to honor the veterans in our community by giving them an opportunity to share the life lessons learned from their military service,” said Jenna Weatherred, Post Independent publisher.

To submit comments, go to the paper’s website at Scroll down to the “features” box at the center of the page, and click on the Veterans Day link.

That will take website visitors to a page with a form to fill out. It asks veterans to supply background information about their military rank, service dates and locations, and the conflict name.

The questions for veterans are:

• What was the top lesson learned during your military service?

• How has your service in the military influenced your life?

• What advice would you have for a young person entering the military?

“We encourage all local veterans to take a few minutes to fill out this online form and share their wisdom with our readers,” Weatherred said.
