Violet B. Wood
Violet Wood passed away of natural causes Sept. 25, 2008, in Denver.
She was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Fort Morgan, to William and Vada Mohr. The family moved to New Castle in 1931. Violet attended school in New Castle.
She married Homer Wood in 1945. They divorced.
She is survived by son Wayne Wood; grandchildren Kelley, William and Michelle; six great-grandchildren; sisters Virginia Erickson of New Castle, Wava Fogg and Wanda Tipps.
Memorial services will be planned for a later date.

Taylor Walters first had the idea for a cornhole league — also called bags or baggo depending on where you’re from — while applying for a job with the city of Rifle.
