Vonda G. Cooper of Rifle passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction with her loving family at her side. She was 77.

Vonda was born Feb. 6, 1934 in Nevada, to Chester A. and Helen (Swain) Larson. She married Gordon R. Cooper on June 14, 1951 in McGill, Nevada. Five years later the couple moved to Rifle where they raised their two boys and attended the First Christian Church.

Vonda enjoyed fishing and camping in her 5th wheel RV. She loved working in her garden, sewing, knitting, cooking and canning. Vonda was a special soul who touched many lives, she will always be loved and forever missed.

Vonda is survived by her husband of 60 years this June, Gordon R. Cooper; sons, Steve (Connie) Cooper and Shawn Cooper; brother, Neil (Kathy) Larson; sisters, Norma Stathis and Helene (Craig) Betsil; and her grandson Connor.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 27, 10 a.m. at Rifle Funeral Home.

Rev. Dene Johnson will officiate.
