Vonnie Elliott

Vonnie Elliott of Grand Junction, died May 9, 2003. She was 73.

Her death came after complications from an aneurysm on an artery to her brain.

Vonnie was a member of the Ski Patrol at the old ski area in Glenwood Springs and is probably the only woman to waterski on the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs Pool and go snow skiing on the same day. Even this last year she still enjoyed snow and water skiing.

She was preceded in death by her son Mark Webb Elliott.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Elliott of Grand Junction; by her sister, Lois Patterson of Henderson, Nev.; by daughter Zina Smilie of Collbran; and by two granddaughters.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, May 14, at the First Baptist Church in Grand Junction.

In lieu of memorial gifts, Vonnie would ask that everyone consider life as a gift from God and to be used serving Him in the ways he makes known to them.
