Ward Allen Hilton

Ward Allen Hilton, 54, of Rifle, passed away Jan. 22, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.

Ward was born Feb. 3, 1954, in Camp Lejeune, N.C., to Calvin Henry and JoAnn (Whitmer) Hilton.

He married Nancy Lee King Feb. 4, 1974, in Tacoma, Wash.



After Ward left the U.S. Army in 1979, he and Nancy moved to the Rifle area and raised their two daughters.

Ward worked as a plant operator at West Glenwood Springs Sanitation District.



He loved animals and enjoyed the outdoors.

He was loved and will be missed very much.

Ward is survived by his wife; daughters Karla Auldridge and Sonja (Joshua) Craine; mother; brothers Dave (Kristin) Berquist, Claud (Laurie) Hilton, Lloyd (Danise) Stringfield, T.R. (Kara) Hilton, and Dean (Pam) Stringfield; sister Jolen (Ed) Hawkinson; and grandchildren Sarah and Josiah Auldridge, and Malachi and Fiona Craine.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation has taken place, and a private service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
