A Car Wash Fundraiser will be held Glenwood Springs High School Saturday, July 24 to benefit the Glenwood Springs Percussion Ensemble.

Swing into the high school parking lot between 8 a.m. and noon and support this nationally competing ensemble.

The ensemble of local high school and middle school students is raising money to purchase a new marimba and a set of marching drums. The additional instruments will give more local students the opportunity to play and march at GSHS football games this year.

In the spring, the 20-plus member ensemble competes regionally and, possibly, returning to Dayton, Ohio for the WGI Worlds. This year the ensemble finished sixth – a remarkable feat for their first trip.

Donate what you’d like and drive away with a clean car and the satisfaction of supporting a remarkable youth program. Ask for a demonstration of the “quads” while your car is getting clean.

For more information about supporting the Glenwood Springs Percussion, contact Frank Martin at 970-928-9347.

An area-wide food drive for LIFT-UP will be held on Saturday, July 24 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at all local City Markets and at Clark’s Market in Battlement Mesa.

Please bring non-perishable food items or purchase extra items while shopping and place them in the collection boxes at the stores. Together we can make sure everyone in our region has food to eat during these difficult economic times!
