The Carbondale Clay Center is having its annual Y’art sale fundraiser, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday during Potato Days. The Clay Center is located at 135 Main St.The flea-market style sale will include an array of ceramic “seconds” courtesy of CCC artists, plus art supplies, and other treasures.
The 4th Annual Pooch Parade benefiting Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, in Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs. Register at 9 a.m. and enjoy free Starbucks coffee. A $15 entry fee includes a raffle ticket and lots of free goodies. The dog walk begins at 10 a.m. along an easy route. Stop at stations along the way and fill your goodie bag with fun gifts. Visit the Fitness/Grooming Booth, Fortune Teller, have a private Canine Consultation about behavior problems, attend a Canine First Aid demo, get a photo of you and your dog, try out for the “Best Dressed Pooch” and “Brilliant Pet Trick” awards. There will also be a great Silent Auction and Raffle – over $2,000 in items.Please bring your dog on a non-retractable leash no more than 6 feet long; one dog per adult. Don’t have a dog? No problem! Officers of the Rifle Elks Lodge #2195 will host a fundraising breakfast from 9-11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at the lodge, 501 W. Fifth St., Rifle.The cost is $5 per plate. The Carbondale Rodeo Club and Senior Matters present the Last Days of Summer & Bareback Bonanza on Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Carbondale rodeo grounds.The Bareback Bonanza will feature rodeo events, live entertainment with Anita Witt, barbecued meat from local ranchers and a live auction featuring a 10-year-old quarter horse mare. Rodeo registration and barbecue begin at 2 p.m. Live entertainment is at 2:30, and the Bareback Bonanza is at 3:30. The horse auction will start at 4:15 p.m.
