Shafer said he anticipates returning to Steves, one of his favorite venues. Guitars are my favorite things in the world, said Shafer, who counts Guy Clark, Muddy Waters and Willie Nelson among his influences. Steves is like having 100 people already in the room with all those guitars. Hes just someone who understands guitars. Valley singer and songwriter Frank Martin will start the show. Carbondale Elementary School will host a public spring carnival and Cinco de Mayo celebration from 5-8:30 p.m. Friday.
