Wesley (Wes) Victor Harris

Wes passed away at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with lung cancer on May 22, 2006. He was born January 18, 1939, in Sheridan Lake to A.V. and Minnie Harris. Wes served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 1968. He married his lifetime partner, Janice Price, June 4, 1961. They had three children together. The family lived in Colorado Springs until 1978, when they moved to Glenwood Springs. Wes and his two sons owned and operated Triple H Concrete. Wes was well-respected for his hard work and his kind heart.He loved NASCAR racing and football, and his pride and joy was his family. Wes was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.Wes is survived by his wife; sons Marvin (Leah) Harris, and Marwin (Kathy) Harris; daughter, Vickie (Ty) Derby; grandchildren Sondra (Nick) Croy, Kade, Nick, and Tenae Harris, and Trey Derby; great-granddaughter Jade Croy; brothers Merle (Jan), Don (Dorothy), and Moe; and sister Shirley Watts.He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and stepmother.Wes will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harris family at any Alpine Bank.Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Farnum-Holt Funeral Home Chapel, 405 W. Seventh St., Glenwood Springs.Farnum-Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
