What goes around comes round-a-bout for New Castle

Town Manager Jim Mann declared “Silt has your back,” following a frantic call from New Castle Town Administrator David Reynolds.
The Town of Silt is pleased to announce that the former Silt round-a-bout sculpture will be gifted to the Town of New Castle for their newly constructed round-a-bout. Due to ongoing governmental efficiency efforts, the funds that were to be used to finish the round-a-bout were pulled from the project, leaving New Castle in a bind on how to complete the amenities of the round-a-bout.
Mann said Reynolds stated that New Castle had been contacted by Abril Tontos, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), informing the Town that the Highway Administration had removed funding for non-transportation amenities, including the costs associated with the landscaping and sculpture for the New Castle round-a-bout. Reynolds further stated that it was a shock that the Town had gotten caught up in DOGE’s efforts and that they were scrambling to address the blank slate.
Mann contacted Silt Mayor Keith Richel, who jumped at the opportunity to help our neighbor to the east. Mayor Richel stated: “we must help our neighbor to the east, and we should do just that by donating the former Silt round-a-bout sculpture.” Richel further stated that “…while the sculpture has been horribly missed in Silt’s round-a-bout, he is pleased that we have found a prominent home location next door in New Castle.”
President Donald J. Trump, in a surprising statement, applauded the two communities in their efforts to reuse and repurpose infrastructure. President Trump stated “…this is huge, I’ve seen the sculpture, have you seen the sculpture, and it’s one of the greatest sculptures that has ever been sculpted.”
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy applauded Silt and New Castle as an example of heralding in a new age of government efficiency and cooperation. Secretary Duffy stated “…it is refreshing to see governmental agencies cooperating to achieve the DOGE goals.”
Reynolds stated “…it is great to know Silt has our back, we thank them from the bottom of our round-a-bout, and look forward to completing the project.”
Installation details were still being worked out at the time of this release.
Editor’s note: This year, April 1 falls on a Tuesday, so please forgive us for running this April Fool’s story a day early. Thank you to Silt Town Manager Jim Mann for seeking us out as a collaborator in the ongoing prank war with New Castle. And to the fine folks of New Castle: We’re all ears on how we can help you get Silt back next year.
