Who does that guy think she is?

Another Halloween has come and gone, yet I still find myself eating chocolate like Augustus Gloop.Chocolate is my best friend.I’m all hopped on chocolate and still giggling at some of the costumes I saw this year and laughing a little at myself, too. I might have pledged to never dress as a dude for Halloween again, but it didn’t take me long to change course.Sure, I was extremely feminine in my school-girl get-up over the weekend. But Tuesday night had me all greased up as Kid Rock, with my trusty sidekick Pamela strutting her stuff. And, yet again, the fake facial hair seemed a little too real. I even had to show my driver’s license to one guy because he thought I was really a man.Now that’s scary.I saw a lot of great costumes, especially a very believable Jerry Garcia, a very ticklish Elmo, and a very sexy Robin Hood. I give Glenwood an A+ for effort. At least I have a full year to plan for the next Halloween where I’m sure I’ll cross all gender boundaries. Willie Nelson is channeling me.

It’s happening in Glenwood Springs to boot: Furry Friends Photo Shoot and Holiday Bake Sale, bring family and pets for a festive holiday photo with Santa, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Colorado Animal Rescue, Spring Valley, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Digital Dimensions. Information: 947-9173This is why I’d kick it up here: When my dogs, Jake and Elwood, were not quite a year old, I took them to meet Santa. They were very excited, to say the least. I bought them a pair of stuffed fabric reindeer antlers and a little red Santa hat for their photo with the Big Man. The catch: Santa that year was not a man, but a woman. That just goes to show Santa can be anyone you want him or her to be. That’s the magic of Kris Kringle.

It’s happening on the tube to boot: Broncos at Steelers, 2:15 p.m. at Heinz Field, Pittsburgh; and Colts at Patriots, 6:15 p.m. in Foxborough, Mass. This is why I’d kick it up here: Paint those faces and get ready for a football frenzy Sunday. I am so pumped to watch these games, I can’t stand it. Mostly, I’m anticipating the Colts-Patriots game, being the Hoosier that I am. In fear of jinxing my team and to avoid that lame reminder that Peyton has never been to a Super Bowl I won’t mention the Colt’s continuing success. I’ll just cross my fingers and hope for the best. And wish the Broncos good luck because I’m a good sport like that.
