Who’s really running the government?

Dear Editor,

U.S. Senators Wayne Allard and Ben Nighthorse Campbell voted for drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, saying it’s for our national security. But on July 29, they voted against raising the fuel efficiency for passenger vehicles.

Raising our fuel efficiency is about the only thing that will reduce our need for oil. But again and again they vote against fuel efficiency. This must be because of corporate money donated to influence their decisions.

This is why we don’t have a government by the people but rather, by the corporation.
