Why not name county roads after firefighters?

Bill Sims

Dear Editor,

Where is County Road 131? How about CR 127? Unless you happen to live on one of these generic numbered roads, they mean nothing.

In light of recent and previous dependency upon the firefighters who sacrificed and risked their lives for our safety, I would suggest we name some of these county roads after the 14 men and women who died on Storm King in 1994, and also the fire companies who have done so much, such as Bitterroot, Prineville, Eugene, Casper, etc.
