Why use tax dollars for recount?

Garry Evenson

Dear Editor,

I see where the supposedly cash-strapped government School District 16 is going to use taxpayer funds to request a recount of the recent tax override vote.

Will School District 16 also pay for another recount if the opponents do not like the results of the first recount?

My second question is, why don’t the “Our Kids” proponents pay for this recount, since they are so convinced that the school district needs funds so badly?

Sincerely,

Garry Evenson
