William Alvin Lucksinger

William Alvin Lucksinger, of Henderson, Nev., died May 8, 2002, in Henderson from suicide. He was 54.

He graduated from Basalt High School in Basalt, Colo., in 1966 and continued his education, receiving an associate degree in science from Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colo. He also completed a special education program in cytology.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1976 and was stationed primarily in Germany.

In 1977, he was employed by St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, Colo., as a cytologist. He married Suzanne Bozorth in 1979. They divorced in 1989.

For the last 11 years, he worked at American Medical Laboratories in Las Vegas, Nev.

A “Bon Voyage” Memorial was held in Henderson on May 16 attended by friends, family and co-workers. Burial is in Basalt Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond (Mike) Lucksinger and Margaret Donegan Lucksinger. Both were long-time pioneers of the Basalt and Glenwood Springs areas.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Spielman, of Grand Junction.
