William Arthur Gould

William Arthur Gould, 81, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on May 30, 2006 at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.William was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Hawthorne, N.J., to Henry and Myrtle (McDonald) Gould.He was in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Dorothy McCann Oct. 19, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y. They had four children. He and his family were longtime residents of Greenwood Lake, N.Y., before coming to Colorado. William had been an area resident for the past 26 years. He was a member of the VFW and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. William was president of Hose-McCann Corporation before his retirement. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Dorothy Gould; sons, William A. (Shawn) Gould Jr. and Robert K. Gould; daughters, Veronica G.( Richard) Ogden and Patricia Maxwell (Kenneth) Freidman; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Ogden.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Vail Valley Hospital or the David Ogden Memorial Scholarship fund at Blair Academy, Blairstown, N.J. 07825.Farnum-Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
