William Lester Armstrong, 57, of Mesquite, Nev., died March 5, 2005, at his home. William was born in Phoenix to William F. and Mable Kendall Armstrong on Nov. 8, 1947. William was a native of Salida. He owned and operated Four Seasons Convenience Store and worked in towing in Garfield. William loved flying airplanes, racing snowmobiles and trucks, and he achieved rookie of the year at Pikes Peak Hill Climb. William relocated to Mesquite in 1996. Shortly after moving to Mesquite, he began organizing the Mesquite Elks Lodge. While in Mesquite, he served as exalted ruler at the lodge.He is survived by a daughter, Katherine (Shane) Jensen, of Mesquite; a son, William Armstrong, of St. George, Utah; two granddaughters, Jessica and Kaylee, of Mesquite; a sister, Judy (Harold) Banks, of Grand Junction; a half-brother, Harry Armstrong, of Phoenix; a half-sister, Clara Wisely, of Havasu Lake, Calif.; and two nieces, Kristine, of Grand Junction, and Debbie, of Rifle. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 Old Mill Road, Mesquite.
