William Lloyd Fuller

William Lloyd Fuller, 80, of Silt, passed away Jan. 25, 2006, in Rifle.He was born March 5, 1925, in Paonia to Henderson Porter and Mary Elizabeth (Harding) Fuller. They lived on the homestead on Lenox Mesa, near Paonia.He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II in the Pacific, in several invasions, including Okinawa. He was honorably discharged in 1946.He was married three times. William met and married Wanda Wright in Oakland, Calif., and they had three boys. Later he married Joan Jay and had one girl. He also married Mary Debra Stuck.He ranched and raised cattle in Yreka, Calif. He worked in ranching and cattle hauling as well as construction and coal mines, and sold real estate in California.William is survived by sons Bill Fuller Jr. of Pennsylvania, Randy Fuller of Silt and Donnie Fuller of Silt; daughter Joanie Turner of Douglas, Kan.; brother Melvin Heinecke of Fruita and John Heinecke of Grand Junction; sisters Marjorie (Norm) Price of Grand Junction and Wilda (Russell) Dunton of Grand Junction; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.He was preceded in death by all his wives.Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2830 D Road, Grand Junction. Interment will follow.Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
