William Nunn Gaisford

William Nunn Gaisford, passed away Dec. 24, 2006, at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale. He was born Dec. 20, 1914, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Bill was raised in Los Angeles. He was a graduate of the University of Southern California and a prominent member of its 1935 football team. Bill’s varied achievements include careers that spanned from commercial fishing to being an early pioneer in Florida’s construction and housing industry. He will be remembered as a man who had a passion for seeking new frontiers and who was equally devoted to family and friends.Bill is survived by his sister, Sally Macon; daughter Susan How; son William Gaisford; granddaughters Jennifer Lamont and Stephanie Toppino; and six great-grandchildren.Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Anderson Gaisford.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Farnum Holt Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood Springs.
