William ‘Willie’ Lee Edwards

Willie went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2010. He was 22.

He was born June 6, 1987 in Glenwood Springs. He spent his childhood in Glenwood Springs, Paonia, Phoenix, Ariz., and Clifton. He graduated from Palisade High School in 2005. Willie attended Adams State and Mesa State and received an associates degree in business.

Will was a beautiful gift we received from heaven. There are no words to describe him, he was compassionate about his family and friends. Willie also lived his life to the fullest, enjoying every minute he could. His biggest passion was golf and he had the trophies to show it. Willie was a golf pro and also a teaching professional.

He has been reunited with his beloved Papa.

He is survived by his parents, Dan and Bobbie Edwards; sister, Suzie (Scott) Davis; nieces, Kaley and Courtney Davis; grandparents, Beverly Edwards, Robert and Barbara Graves; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 12, 10 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast, 2515 Patterson, Grand Junction. Graveside services at 1:30 p.m. in Carbondale at Evergreen Cemetery, N. 8th St. and Village Road. A reception will follow in Willie’s honor at the American Legion 97, 3rd Street in Carbondale as well.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Willie Edwards name to Lincoln Park Junior Golf, 800 Mantlo Circle, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
