Wisconsin woman, juvenile arrested after high-speed chase
EAGLE COUNTY ” A Wisconsin woman and a juvenile were arrested in the Vail Valley early this morning after leading police on high speed chase on Interstate 70.
Police started pursuing the vehicle after getting a report that the driver of the vehicle drove away from the West Vail Shell station without paying for gas. At about 1:44 a.m. a deputy recognized the car driving westbound on I-70 and tried to stop it, but the driver kept going.
The car exited the highway at Edwards, ran a stoplight and got back on the interstate. The vehicle eventually stopped on the right shoulder of Interstate 70 near mile marker 159.
The driver, a juvenile, was arrested and charged with theft, reckless driving, attempting to elude a police officer and driving with a suspended license. The passenger, Holly Schulz, 22, of Wisconsin was arrested and charged with theft, accessory to a crime and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The juvenile is being held at the sheriff’s office and Schulz is at the county detention facility on a $7,500 bond.
