Woman found dead in Fort Collins fire was strangled beforehand

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) ” Fort Collins police say a woman found dead in a house where two fires were burning had been strangled and sexually assaulted.

Coroner’s officials have said 20-year-old Linnea Dick of Fort Collins died of asphyxia.

Police say firefighters went to the house Friday and found the house on fire and Dick’s body in an upstairs bedroom. Another fire was burning in the basement.

A cat died in the blaze.

Police said Sunday that Dick had been strangled and sexually assaulted before she died. They believe the fires were arsons.

They are looking for Dick’s car, described as a dark blue 1997 Nissan Altima with a rear spoiler.
