Work forces partial closure of Grand Avenue intersection
Water line work on Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs will require the east side of the intersection at 9th and Grand to be closed through Friday, Sept. 19, during construction activity. The intersection will be open during non-construction times for right-hand turns off of Grand Avenue.
The water line work will be progressing on the 800 block of Grand Avenue.
Motorists are reminded that left turns from Grand Avenue at 8th, 9th and 10th are prohibited 24 hours a day for the duration of the construction project.
The RFTA bus stop in front of the Forest Service Building will be relocated to the front of the old St. Stephen’s church while construction is under way on the east side of the street.
Parking is prohibited along the east side of Grand Avenue in the construction zone. Public parking is still available on the side streets and the public lots in the downtown area. All downtown merchants remain open for business.
