Work of young artists takes holiday card form

Crystal River Elementary School and the Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities have teamed up to sell cards at various Carbondale merchants.The Christmas cards feature contest-winning artwork from third-graders and fifth-graders from CRES in Carbondale. The cards will be sold in packages of eight for $15 at Main Street stores, with proceeds benefiting the CRES art program.The student winners include: third-graders Raul Leyva, Joel Gonzalez, David Barajas and Rorey Freeman and fifth-graders Dakotah Grett, Luis Castorena, Alex Castilo, Emanual Vargas-Vidriales and Ricardo Juan Lucas-Lopez. All cards are on display at Metamorphosis Gallery and the CCAH gallery.
