Your appreciation is appreciated

Dear Editor,

On May 30, the mini-college community of Glenwood Springs gave Byrd and I a gift of a lifetime. The recognition and love we received that night was overwhelming. We were presented with books of memories, flowers, and many meaningful presents, but the outpouring of LOVE is what I’ll keep with me forever.

I have had 17 years of conversations and time with people of very short stature. They have filled my life with more joy, laughter, and meaning than anything I could have ever predicted or imagined. I have learned more about life and living in those 17 years than I could ever have taught. I have been very lucky to have made many lasting friendships with children and parents alike. The efforts and love I have put into the children’s mini college seem insignificant to what I’ve received from the experience. Thank you to everyone who was part of making the night of May 30 a night I will never forget. I have been so completely blessed.
