Sources close to Robert A. “Bob” Eiger, chairman & CEO of The Walt Disney Co., are reporting that Disney, Rand McNally, The Glenwood Springs DDA (Downtown Development Authority), CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) and the Glenwood Springs City Council have reached an agreement with Disney and Rand McNally to purchase the historic downtown core of the most “fun” city in America and create the newest American theme park. One stipulation of the sale dictates that downtown residents will never be allowed to leave the district, in order to protect the integrity of the historic Glenwood Springs area.In an unprecedented about face, Joe Elsen from CDOT has decided to shift the $59 million that CDOT had allotted for a new Grand Avenue Bridge/off ramp to a Magic Kingdom-type monorail that will begin on the north side of the Colorado river at the new Two Rivers Park 20-story park-n-ride, with monorail stops at the now closed Ninth Street and 11th Street intersections; providing service all the way to Aspen, and continuing to Santa Fe, N.M. which Disney is also purchasing soon. Anyone traveling south of Glenwood will be required to use the monorail. Ken, the brewmaster at the Glenwood Canyon Brewpub, is developing some new 3.2 “monorail beers” that will be allowed on board. In addition, those close to management of the Hot Springs Pool say that ownership is in negotiations with Disney to join the project. They will be expanding the pool south under I-70 to the new Colorado River beach, accessed from the new tunnel under the railroad from Seventh Street. However, the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park folks, a direct competitor of Disney, seem reluctant to get involved with the project. They may be holding out for a monorail connection that will link the caverns with the historic theme park.Glenwood Mayor Matt Steckler was quoted as saying. “Thank Goodness we don’t have to hear about a new bridge and bypass anymore; because everything anyone would ever want is now right here, and not in Aspen.”April Fool!Brad JanssenGlenwood Springs

When something creeps up on us over a period of many years, it isn’t as easy to discern as the thunderstorm that hits with a bang. By the time we do notice what has transpired, it is often too late. Just imagine that we no longer choose and elect our presidents and that candidates from both sides of the aisle are picked and groomed by unseen forces. Next take a few minutes on the Internet to see which of our politicians are and have been members of the Council on Foreign Relations. Take another look at the number of people in high places who are high-ranking members of Masonic lodges. Now we have come to a time when our government is openly taking away our guns and has the authority to use spy drones over major U.S. cities. You won’t hear on the mainstream news that our government is now stock-piling weapons and ammunition – not for use in foreign wars, but for use against American citizens. Duh! Where is the protest and outrage? The move toward one-world government is alive and well – plotted by the United Nations, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Tri Lateral Commission. The wealthy bankers of the world are in charge – the self-appointed elite. Even Teddy Roosevelt knew that something was not right with the media and did not approve of the Federal Reserve that was founded behind his back – that group not a branch of our government but a private corporation of the wealthiest bankers. Something is quite foul. It is here, and you didn’t even see it coming. A quote by JFK is rather telling: “The high office of president has been used to foment a plot to destroy the American’s freedom, and before I leave office I must inform the citizen of his plight.” Ten days later Kennedy was dead.Carol Abbott Parachute
