Watch how people who are courting you treat other people. Are they nice to their parents and sisters and brothers? How about ex-spouses and boyfriends and girlfriends? Co-workers, customers and clients? Cab drivers, waiters and waitresses? Because nobody’s special. How they treat those people is ultimately how they’re going to treat you.

If Scott McInnis will rip-off and lie to “longtime” family friend Rollie Fischer and then blame Fischer for his (McInnis’) behavior, he will lie and rip-off you, who he’s probably never met, or only met superficially at a political function.

Dr. Malik Hasan said in several media interviews, “I was disappointed both with the quantity and the quality of work he put into it. Now that I’m hearing even the small amount of work he put in – the news says he may have plagiarized it – that’s a double disappointment.”

If Scott McInnis performed disappointing quantity and the quality of work for which he was paid $300,000, the taxpayers and voters of Colorado can expect even less if he’s elected governor, which pays less, is much harder and he can’t fool Rollie Fischer into doing for him.

Nobody’s special. If Scott McInnis lied and ripped off Rollie Fischer and Dr. Malik Hasan, he’ll lie and rip off you.

While I dearly respect Vern Soucie, I disagree with his recent quote in the PI that “there isn’t any need for that,” referring to the Sheriff’s Department Bearcat.

Sadly, times have changed Vern – we’re not in Mayberry anymore. We enter the courthouse through metal scanners. We read of gang arrests, and our local law enforcement officers have been shot and wounded.

Our law enforcement needs the most modern safety equipment available to protect themselves and consequently us. We are very fortunate to have a proactive sheriff, one that is prepared to protect and serve us as he has done for the past eight years.

I challenge you to ask your local police officers and sheriff deputies throughout Garfield County about the inter-agency communication and leadership of the sheriff’s department. I did, and they overwhelmingly support Lou Vallario. Vote for Lou Vallario.

To whomever took our Vallario yard sign – grow up.

I am so excited to endorse Republican candidate Doug Winters for sheriff of Garfield County. Doug was a crucial part of our church while I was the pastor. Doug exhibited dedication to his duties in the church as well as served on the church leadership board.

I know that he will have the same fervent passion for the community and the people of Garfield County. He has great leadership abilities, is very personable, and is a man of his word. He takes time to understand situations and develops workable solutions.

If you believe that Garfield County needs fresh leadership, Doug Winters is your man.
