The Post Independent should read the stories it prints. Are the people at the Independent trying to distort the truth intentionally?
Your poll the week asks “Do you agree with President Obama’s endorsement of a proposed plan to build a mosque near ground zero.” Your question does not match the news you printed. The AP story in the Post clearly said Obama supported their right to freedom of religion. He didn’t endorse the planned mosque… he endorsed the constitutional right of freedom of religion for all people.
To be so ignorant to say, that because the terrorists that struck on Sept. 11 were Muslim, all Muslims are terrorists, is sad. Timothy McVeigh has been reported to be both Lutheran, and Catholic. So let us assume McVeigh was Lutheran as I am…. because he was a terrorist, and a fellow Lutheran, does that make me a terrorist? Are all Lutheran’s terrorists? Are Lutheran churches now terrorist schools, because of McVeigh? I think not. A Muslim mosque near ground zero does not mean anything more than a religious building is being built near the spot where the twin towers stood. That’s all it means.
If President Obama had denounced the plan, the same people that now try distort his statement of support of their (Muslims) basic religious rights, would be whining about how he (Obama) doesn’t understand the Constitution. The Post Independent has no excuse for it’s ignorance. The Post Independent should not be trying to mislead the public as this poll question does. I would rather believe the Post has a political agenda and is engaging in politics, then think this is simply ignorance. Which is it? Is the Post really that ignorant? Does the Post feel a responsibility to print the truth? Is the Post distorting the facts?
It is religion taken to the extreme (that’s why they call them “extremists”) that blew up the building in Tulsa, and attacked New York city on Sept. 11. It has nothing to do with individual religious buildings or their locations.
Nancy Pelosi has apparently retrieved her Lava Lamp from of the attic, scratched around in the dresser drawers to find a few micro-dots that still had a kick, lit up the old bong and is again blessing us with her incoherent, spaced-out hippy wisdom! She is pressing to investigate … we Americans who object to the mosque being planned in an area that was impacted by the landing gear of a plane that was part of a radical Islam instrument of jihad, anti-Infidel, ground zero killing machine! This is a portion of the area where attacks from radical Muslim’s killed almost 3,000 Americans as well as other innocent people of other nations, religions and cultures.
When will it be understood that not all things about all cultures, all ethnic heritage and all religious teachings are to be accepted, admired, approved and most of all … tolerated by liberty and freedom-loving Americans? Some convoluted, corrupted ideological dogma deserves to be resisted, admonished and rejected until it is understood that they are inhumane, despicable and unworthy of any culture, ethnic heritage or religion.
If I see one rebutting letter from a bonehead-bottom-feeding-Bush-did-it wanting an example … I will flip!
Quit … quit playing in your local sandbox and do something for the United States!
More and more Americans are understanding Obama’s despicable administration!
