Glenwood Springs, CO ColoradoArticle about Glenwood doctor was uncalled forI am writing in regards to the unfortunate article that was recently published concerning Dr. David Miller, our medical community’s first neurosurgeon. As an ear, nose and throat doctor, I have had the pleasure of working quite closely with Dr. Miller over the last six months, both in the office and in the operating room. I have found him to be an extremely insightful clinician and a highly-skilled surgeon. However, what has most impressed me is the great care and overwhelming concern that he clearly demonstrates for his patients. I would not hesitate to have Dr. Miller care for me or a member of my family. I feel confident that I can speak on behalf our entire medical staff when I claim, without reservation, that our community is incredibly fortunate to have such a fine individual and caring physician as its first neurosurgeon.Matthew L. Goodstein, M.D.Glenwood SpringsWe’ll still write the religious letters, but you don’t have to read themIn response to a certain Basalt correspondent’s urgent plea to confine all religious letters to one day a week (as if Christians and other believers in God made up one-seventh of the populace, when in reality he and his crowd account for about that much), I think I have a much better idea. How about if he uses his often abused, God-given gift of free will, and simply chooses not to read them? A stroke of genius, don’t you think? And please consider: “Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas day (or another momentous day), To save us all from Satan’s power when we were gone astray, Oh tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy, Oh tidings of comfort and joy.” And a very Merry Christmas to one and all!John HerbstBattlement Mesa
