Yvonne Marie Duran, 37, passed away at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Western Colorado on April 25, 2009.

She was born to Albert and Fabiola Duran of Cedar City, Utah, on March 11, 1972. She grew up and attended Sequoyah High School in Visalia, Calif.

Yvonne attended nursing school and received her certified nursing assistant certificate in Las Vegas and in Utah. She worked for Horizon Home Health Care in Cedar City for several years and then moved to Grand Junction and worked at The Commons. She was a kind-hearted woman who truly loved her patients and had a passion for helping people.

Yvonne’s pride and joy was spending time with her four children. They loved to go snowboarding, hunting, camping, fishing and four-wheeling. She also had an extensive collection of Egyptian artifacts. She loved her Akita/Pit-bull dog, Honey.

Yvonne is survived by her father and mother, Albert and Fabiola Duran of Cedar City, Utah; her sister Beatrice Ontiveroz of St. George, Utah; her two brothers Miguel and Ramon Madriz of Cedar City; her two daughters, Aurora and Auriana Fowler, and two sons, Esteban and Raymond Fowler, all of Grand Junction.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Luis and Henrietta Duran and Maria Juarez of Visalia, Calif., and Emmanuel Jacquez of Artesia, N.M.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Rifle Funeral Service.
