Arlen John Jackson (May 21, 1934 — March 25, 2019 )

Arlen Jackson passed away in Sonora, Mexico, in a car accident. He was 84 years old.

He was born in Holyoke, Colorado, to Alph and Hannah Jackson. Arlen was the youngest of four siblings and is survived by his eldest sister, Aufelda.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served overseas as a medic. Upon his return he owned and operated businesses in Arizona including a mechanic shop and wood cutting company. He moved to the Western Slope in the early ’60s to his ranch in New Castle and split his time between his home there and Mexico, where he also owned a tile company.

He was married in 1971 to Delfina Jackson and had two children, Blanca and Jimmy. After retirement his joy was his children and grandchildren. Arlen split his time between Colorado and Arizona so he could spend time with them all. He had a wonderful heart and taught us so many priceless things that we will cherish forever.

He is survived by his daughter Blanca (Rich) Cunha, Jimmy (Amber) Jackson and his grandchildren Jazmin, Jayce, Kaitlyn, Bryce and Ella. A memorial service will be planned at a time to be determined.
