Bonnie Jean Fischer (Mar 26, 1942 – Aug 1, 2017)

Bonnie Jean Fischer passed away on August 1, 2017, she was 75. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Fischer. She is survived by her sons Steve Fischer, Van Fischer, daughter Joo Hee Rose and her 8 grandchildren. She was also a beloved sister to her siblings, Barbara Haycock, Duane Mortensen and Danny Mortensen.

A teacher for over 50 years, Bonnie left her mark on the community as a passionate advocate for children’s education. Starting out in Special Education, she then moved on to teach kindergarten, 2nd Grade and finally as the librarian and technology educator at Crystal River Elementary School.

She also had various hobbies, some of which included ceramics, skiing, archery, cheerleading coach, soccer player, summer school teacher, sewing, camping and fishing.

A memorial service will take place at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 8th, at The Orchard Gathering Place, 110 Snowmass Drive, Carbondale.

In lieu of flowers, donation information for Crystal River Elementary School will be available at the service.
