Dorothy Louise Smith (April 13, 1951 — March 25, 2019)

Dorothy Louise (Walden) Smith, born on April 13, 1951, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Rex and Vera Walden, passed away into the arms of her beloved savior, Jesus, at the age of 67 on March 25, 2019. Dorothy was the wife of Richard “Jojo” Smith, who went before her to heaven in 2007. She is survived by her children, Trea (Steve) Traver and Jacob Smith; her siblings, Bill Walden, Bonnie Mathews and Patricia (Paul) Smith; and grandchildren, Hannah, Gabriel and Holly Traver. The majority of her childhood and 20s were spent in San Diego, CA, where she married the love of her life, Jojo, in 1975. They moved to Colorado and settled in Glenwood Springs in the early 1980s. She was the youngest of six children. She loved to study her Bible, pray for others, sing, play piano and guitar, crochet, draw, garden, give gifts, write poetry, travel, her dogs, but most of all loved spending time with her family celebrating every holiday and birthday to its fullest. She had a one of a kind sense of humor, an unrelenting faith in Christ and a very strong spirit. She survived much, was incredibly generous, loved deeply, and saw more miracles than anyone we know. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. All are welcome to her memorial service Friday, April 5, at 1:00 p.m. at New Creation Church in Glenwood Springs.
