H.J. Chee

Our beloved H.J. Chee, husband, father, and friend, went on to be with Jesus on October 3, 2016. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He owned The Pit Stop in Glenwood Springs for 24 years and ran it with truth, honor and integrity.

Always wanting to serve and do his best for his employees and customers. His desire always was to leave people and places better than the way he found them.

He moved to the United States in 1970 from South Korea. At Los Angeles Trade Technical College he met Carmen Ramos and they got married on April 26, 1975.

They had two sons, Brian, born in 1978, and Kevin, born in 1984. He moved his family to Colorado in June of 1992. Brian now lives with his family in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kevin lives with his family in New Castle, Colorado.

His spirit now lives on in his loving wife of 42 years, Carmen, his son Brian and fiancée Jayde, his son Kevin and wife Danielle, his beloved granddaughters Paige and Megan, his mother Jung Hae, his sisters Anna, Yoonhee and Sanghee, and many other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the HJ Chee Memorial Fund at Alpine Bank would be appreciated.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate H.J.’s life at New Creation Church located at 44761 Highway 6, Glenwood Springs, CO at 1PM on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
