H Wayne Langstaff

H “Wayne” Langstaff born on February 5, 1953, left this earth for heaven on September 19, 2015.

Wayne was born to Ira and Vivian (Black) Langstaff in Rifle. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Rifle and received his Associates Degree in Applied Sciences – Farm Ranch Management from Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs.

Wayne married his wife Linda on September 3, 1983, and together they raised three children, Brian and Russell Langstaff of Phoenix, Arizona and Dani Anne (Steven) Hutchinson of Grand Junction.

Wayne was a 4 H’er for ten years. He was in the FFA and served as chapter president. His career consisted of mechanic for farm equipment, truck driver extraordinaire, parent, and church member serving as a deacon. His hobbies included painting, drawing, growing roses, and photography.

Besides his wife and children, other survivors include brother Kenneth and sister Vivian (Howard) Mathers of Grand Junction, sister Pearl Jewell of De Beque, brother Raymond (Elaine) of Rifle, many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and other family members including mother-in-law Carol Jacoby, Sun City, AZ, sister-in-law Leslie (Matt) VoVilla, Tehachapi, CA, and brother-in-law David (Diane) Jacoby, Westminster, CO.

Wayne was preceded in death by both of his parents, sister-in-law Barbara Langstaff, father-in-law Dick Jacoby, and brother-in-laws Wayne Allec and Wayne Jewell.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 27th, at 3:00 pm at the First Christian Church of Rifle. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established at CMC.
