John Maurice Tripp

On May 14, 2015, Jack Tripp passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Infinity Hospice Care of Las Vegas, NV. He was 78.

He was born June 17, 1936, in Paonia, CO, to Maurice Tripp and Raychel (Frew) Tripp. He lived in Paonia until he was 11, when his family moved to Rifle, CO, after buying the Gambles Hardware Store. He really enjoyed his years in Rifle, and made many lifelong friends. He graduated from Rifle Union High School in 1954, and then from Western State College in 1959.

In March of 1959 he married Judy Creel in Las Vegas, NV. After graduation, they moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he worked for TRW in the aerospace program, then eventually as a real estate agent for Century 21. After retiring in 1985, they moved to Las Vegas, NV. He loved to travel, and he and Judy spent a lot of time traveling all over the world. He had a deep love and appreciation for family and friends, staying active in his children and grandchildren’s lives, planning many class reunions, and trying to keep family and friends connected through emails.

He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Christa (John) Green of Rifle, CO, son Blaine (Dena) Tripp of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren Morgan, Zach, (Rachel), Seth and Amanda Green; Sean and Cole Tripp; and sister Judi Tripp of Salem, OR. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Memorial contributions can be made to the New Ute Theater Society in Rifle, at P.O. Box 84, Rifle, CO 81650.
