Kenneth Golden, Jr. (Aug. 10, 1934 — May 21, 2017)
Kenneth Golden (82) was called home by our Heavenly Father the morning of Sunday, May 21, 2017, surrounded in love by his wife and children. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Joan; children Joanie, Kimberly and Kenneth; sister Lynda Golden-Martin; and grandchildren Jennifer, Daniel, Michael, Ashley and Jessica.
Ken was born and raised in New Jersey and served our country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. Ken was a loving and caring husband of 57 years and devoted father to his four children. The Roaring Fork Valley has been home to Ken and his family for the past 50 years. Many will remember Ken for his warm friendly smile, jovial spirit and willingness to share his love of Jesus Christ.
Ken will also be remembered for the many years he worked in construction and snow plowing. For fun, he enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. When at home, his favorite things to do included reading the Bible, mowing his lawn, watching old westerns or tinkering in his workshop. Ken enjoyed sharing and kidding with others, and his humorous quick wit will be missed by everyone.
Celebration of Life service is planned for Saturday, June 3, beginning at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Church, 2195 Co Rd 154, Glenwood Springs. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up to accept donations for our military veterans in honor and memory of Ken Golden. Memorial contributions will be forwarded to ‘Healing Paws for Warriors’ and ‘Heroes on the Water’.
Donations may be made at any U.S. Bank location, Ken Golden Memorial Fund, or may be mailed to U.S. Bank, 1901 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.
