Manuel “Manny” Valencia

Manny Valencia passed away December 13, 2015. He was born June 19, 1939, in Ignacio, Colorado, to Jose M. and Rufelia N. Valencia. He was a lifelong resident of Colorado.

Manny was a loving husband, father, race horse trainer, cowboy, rancher, outfitter, mentor, and a friend to all. He was an accomplished race horse trainer and owner of world champion horses. His favorite pastime was sharing stories of his adventures on and off the track.

Manny was the second oldest of nine siblings; he is preceded in death by his father Jose (Joe), mother Rufelia Valencia, and brother Jose Valencia Jr.

Manny is survived by wife Pamala Valencia, daughter Samantha (Donald, Hannah, Emma and Parker Poole) Valencia, and son Thomas (Mary) Valencia.

Celebration of life will be held this summer at one of Manny’s favorite places in De Beque, date to be announced later.
