Martha Jane Sloan

Martha Jane Sloan was born on April 20, 1964 to Jane (Brandt) and Harold Zegler in Corona, California. She attended school in California, graduating from Red Bluff High School in 1982. Martha married Jeffrey Mozingo in 1990 and to this union two daughters, Kylie and Kara were born. From 2005 to 2010 Martha worked as a child support enforcer for Garfield County. In 2010 she married Randall “Randy” Sloan and with him brought the joys of a bigger family: Michelle, Rick, Chelsie, and Randy Jr. were brought into Martha’s life, joining Kylie and Kara. Together, in Moffat County, Randy and Martha operated their business, High Desert Ranch and Outfitting. Martha enjoyed volunteering for the Craig Chamber of Commerce, and was a co-chairman for the Mule Deer Foundation of Northwest Colorado. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Martha passed away unexpectedly May 31, 2015 at The Memorial Hospital in Craig, Colorado. She is survived by her husband of five years, Randy Sloan; Children Kylie Mozingo of Grand Junction, CO, Kara Mozingo of Rifle, CO, Chelsie Sloan of Grand Junction, CO, Randy Sloan Jr. of Craig, CO, and Rick and Michelle Sloan, both of Oregon; Three grandchildren, Allie, Hunter, and Lilly; Sister Judy Zegler of Antelope, California, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jane Zegler, brother Michael Zegler, and niece Natalie Kinross. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 9, 2015 at St. Mary’s Parish in Rifle, Colorado at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Mule Deer Foundation of Northwest Colorado in care of Grant Mortuary.
