Mary “Pricilla” Vigil (March 12, 1942 — May 12, 2017)

Pricilla, age 75, passed away on May 12, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born March 12, 1942, in Shoshone, Colorado, to Jenny and Lupe Cruz. She was raised and lived in Glenwood Springs her entire life with the exception of a few years.

She married Jose “Jimmie” Vigil on October 27, 1958, in Glenwood Springs, where they raised their four children. She worked in the medical field assisting local physicians and as ward secretary at Valley View Hospital. She was a Spanish translator and held various customer service positions where she seemed to meet and know everyone in town. She took pride in being a friend to all she met and loved visiting with everyone whom she came in contact with.

Her four legged friends Missy Lou, Princess, Peanut, Fatso and Junior were her constant companions.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jose, father Lupe, sister Vera and brother Ralph. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria (Terry) Guy, of Plant City, Fl., Shiela (Rick) Artaz, sons James Vigil and Mitch Vigil of Glenwood Springs. Her adoring grandchildren Cherish (Omar) Ortega, Jessica (Ethan) Colding, Hannah Guy all of Plant City, Fl., Kelbey (Hannah) Artaz, Bryanne (Alex) Vigil, Tehya (Peter) Vigil, Chase Vigil, all of Glenwood Springs, CO., and great-grandchildren Andrew and Alexa Ortega of Plant City, Fl., as well as two new great-grandchildren due very soon. Her mother Jenny Cruz and sister Linda (Brian) Harris. As well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of her life will take place on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 2 pm at Farnum-Holt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society in remembrance of her husband and all who have fought the fight would be greatly appreciated.
