Terry “T” Leroy Satterfield (April 22nd, 1946 — February 23rd, 2017)

Terry passed away peacefully at his home with his family, the way he intended.

Terry was born in Glenwood Springs and started school in Parachute, then he and his family moved to Cairo, MO. He spent a good portion of his youth there and then returned to Parachute and graduated at Grand Valley High School. He continued to live in the Parachute area the rest of his days.

Terry faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War.

Terry played a key role in oil shale development in and out of our local valley.

Terry served on the local fire department, and worked as a rancher for many of the local ranches as well as for himself.

He was an excellent team roper where he was affectionately known as “T.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Della Satterfield, along with his daughter Carlee Satterfield.

Terry leaves behind his devoted wife, Penny Satterfield; children (Bub) Terry and Christa Satterfield, Misty Satterfield, Erica Satterfield, Gina and Taylor Richardson, Lacey Satterfield, Sheldon Doyle Satterfield and Barbara (Barbie) Satterfield; nineteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; twin brother Jerry and Mary Satterfield; sister Carla and Charles Kent; special in-laws Alice Jones, George and Celeste Jones, Regina and Scott Pretti and Edna and Don Place; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at the Grand Valley High School in Parachute, Colorado, 800 Cardinal Way, March 4th at 11:00 am.

Reception will be announced at service.
