AVCF receives $160,000 grant
The Aspen Valley Community Foundation has received a $160,000 grant from the estate of Duane Stranahan thanks to the help of his son, Aspen philanthropist George Stranahan. The grant will support further grants to local nonprofits in the areas of child abuse, family planning, and temporary shelter for the homeless.
Duane Stranahan founded the Needmore Fund, which focuses on community organizing.
The Aspen Valley Community Foundation’s mission is to identify and address human needs in the Aspen to Parachute communities, strengthen and support nonprofit organizations, foster private giving and promote volunteerism. Information: 925-9300.
