Have you ever considered the benefits of walking or biking to work, school or to run an errand around town? The advantages are numerous. Not only will you save money, but you will get a fantastic workout! By getting your workout done during the day, you wont have to make a special trip to the gym after work. Walking is the only mode of transportation available to the majority of the population. It is, like biking, non-polluting and one of the easiest and most effective ways to get fit. Its also often the fastest and most reliable way to get around. Walking is easiest for short and local trips, while biking is perfect for more lengthy trips. Both are easy, a healthy way to get to your destination, and replace short car trips in our community, which are the most polluting ones. Try walking or biking around town, even if it is just one day a week. Any trip made without your car is a benefit to you and our community. You can download a map of the citys bicycle route from the citys Web site. Visit http://www.ci.glenwood-springs.co.us and look under the transportation pages. You can also find the bus schedules and information about reducing the number of cars in town. It is never too late to change your transportation habits and increase the quality of life in Glenwood Springs.
