The DVD collection has widely expanded this year throughout the Garfield County Public Library District in all branch libraries. From classic and award-winning films, to a number of recent releases from comedy to drama, we strive to bring it to you free of cost. We also have instructional/educational DVDs, and DVDs for children. Last, but not least, we continue to offer popular movies and TV series on DVD. Many are available as early as their first day released on DVD. Whether you’re a fan of disasters, mystery, martial arts, or thrillers, you can find many popular DVDs in this category at your local branch library. Although several new titles arrive each month, you can also find some classics like “The Great Escape.” Some movies such as “Fantastic Four,” “X-Men” and “Spiderman” are based on popular comic books. Comic adventures are always enjoyable. You can choose from “Wild Hogs,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Oceans Eleven,” “Rush Hour” and “Night at the Museum,” to name a few.Don’t forget to check out the numerous new titles in comedy and drama: “License to Wed,” “Epic Movie,” “Music & Lyrics,” “Next,” “1408,” “Reign over Me,” “Mr. Brooks” and “Hoax,” plus many more.”Charlotte’s Web” is the one of the most popular of a number of recent animated films that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. “Surf’s Up,” “Happy Feet,” “Finding Nemo,” “Cars,” and “The Incredibles” are just a few of the animated titles available. The library district has a large collection of Disney classics.The Harry Potter book series and film series entertain people of all ages. The Eyewitness DVD series provides children a breathtaking adventure in a virtual science museum where they can experience firsthand the wonders and marvels of the natural world. “Rock N Learn” and “Rap N Learn” DVDs are colorful animated series that teaches kids by using upbeat music and pictures. Scholastic Books to film DVDs allows children to watch the story on the DVD, which helps bring the story they just heard, or learned to read, to life.You will find a balanced collection of broadcast TV and cable shows, from popular and best sellers to critically acclaimed and award-winning classics to contemporary, and in a variety of genres. If you missed an episode of one your favorite TV series, or maybe you got into season two of a series and want to go back to see season one, be sure to check to see if the Garfield County Public Library District owns it. “Heroes,” “Brothers and Sisters,” “30 Rock” and “Ugly Betty” are some of the new TV DVD releases available for you.
