“The goal of a new fare system is a joint effort with RFTA and Ride Glenwood Springs (RGS) to make the system simpler to use,” said Glenwood Springs City Councilman Don Gillespie. “It will give you more flexibility time-wise between the West Glenwood to Wal-Mart route, because of the availability of more buses. Your ticket or pass from RFTA or RGS will be honored by both systems.”When someone boards a RFTA bus in Glenwood Springs who wants a one-way ride within Glenwood Springs, they can either pay $1 or use a RFTA punch pass.If someone boards a RFTA bus in Glenwood Springs and wants to purchase an all-day RGS ticket, they can either pay $2 cash or use a RFTA punch pass. The driver will issue the passenger a RFTA transfer and punch the date and the Ride Glenwood Springs checkbox. The passenger can then use the transfer to ride on all RFTA buses within Glenwood Springs on that date, and can also use it to ride all RGS buses on that date as well.Additionally, people can ride RFTA buses within Glenwood Springs by showing drivers their RGS all-day tickets.RGS season pass holders can ride RFTA buses within Glenwood Springs as well.Construction report for Glenwood SpringsWork will continue this week on replacement of the water main in Highway 6 in West Glenwood between Traver Trail and 135 Road.
