Some coffee, some talk, and for him, a spot of tea

I have a secret: I really dont like coffee.I love the smell, but could care less for the taste. So what, you say?Its kind of ironic, really, that I dont like coffee but Ill be hosting coffee talks with publisher Mike Bennett. The idea behind the coffee talk is pretty simple: We want to know what you think about our paper.Want to see a new feature in the paper? Tell us. Want to know why we make the decisions we do? Ask, and well tell you.Got an idea for a story? Come let us know. Got coffee? We do. So well be hanging around Creekbend Bistro & Coffee Shop, 121 E. Third St. in Rifle, from 8-9 a.m. Thursday. Well be in Glenwood Springs on Tuesday, Aug. 17, and then in Carbondale and Parachute the following weeks. Well announce the exact locations later. So come and talk with us, have a cup of coffee and tell us what you like, or dislike, about the paper.Good or bad, well listen.Back to that coffee thing. I dont think Ill ever acquire the coffee taste, even in the day and age of coffee shops such as Starbucks sprouting up on every street corner.Latte, mocha, cappuccino, espresso? Hawaiian, Indonesian, South American or African beans?Folgers or Maxwell House?Stop already.See you Thursday for that coffee talk. You come ready to talk, and well provide the coffee.Um, but just make mine tea.Tom Martinez is managing editor of the Glenwood Springs Post Independent.
