Wanted: Campus site

CMC is beginning to look into new locations for the Rifle Campus. Rifle Campus Dean Pam Arsenault says finding the best location will be a lengthy process. The existing $1/year lease with the Re-2 school district expires in four years with an automatic renewal for 10 years. She says the Rifle community is anticipating great growth and the college is looking ahead. She says the college will investigate sites in an existing building and consider a new building altogether. Arsenault recently assisted in getting a former bank in Dillon remodeled into a new CMC academic site. CMC’s faculty and staff have created and personally contributed to a new student scholarship at each of our seven campuses. The CMC Foundation assisted to endow each campus scholarship, ensuring students will receive the scholarships every year. The college only has about 52 scholarships in place for its nearly 25,000 students and is looking for community support for scholarship building.-CMC’s Lappala Center will host its Community Advisory Board Oct. 22. The volunteers advise the college and some members have served since 1987! Also, in late October about 100 people are expected to attend a Business Development Conference in Carbondale, held at the Town Hall and the Lappala Center.-Remember you can continue to register for classes that will start throughout the semester.
