Due to sold-out performances of last week’s Defiance Community Players “Greater Tuna” production, a 1 p.m. matinee on Feb. 23 has been added. Doors open at 12:15 p.m.

For all evening performances on Feb. 21, 22 and 23, doors open at 6:45 p.m. with the show at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited.

Tickets may be obtained by cash or check in downtown Glenwood Springs at Mountain Peddler. For advance credit card reservations, call 970-945-2174.

Auditions for the Kiwanis Club of Glenwood Springs’ Stars of Tomorrow Talent show will be held starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at St. Stephen’s School. A mandatory rehearsal will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Roaring Fork High School Auditeria.

The show will be held Friday, April 4, at the Roaring Fork High School’s Auditeria.

The Stars of Tomorrow is open to all students of a public, private, or parochial school not above the 12th grade. In order to be eligible for the scholarship prizes and thereby have a chance to move on to the district competition, the contestant must have reached his or her 13th birthday by Feb. 9, 2008. All contestants below this age are welcome to try out for the “Showcase Talent” of up-and-coming Stars, but are not eligible for prizes or the district competition.

Talent chosen for the competition, those 13 years of age and older, will be required to have a sponsor. Sponsors, local business or individual, should provide the contestant with a sponsorship fee.

The Eagles and Rotary are partnering for the “Spit the Truth” event, to be held from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Eagles Cub, 3112 Seventh St. in Glenwood Springs.

Break Dance Battle, stomp your opponents! Cash awards.

To finish the night, DJ Echo DaFunk will be featured.
